Foundation Review: Covergirl Natureluxe Liquid Silk Foundation
Hey loves. :)
Today's post is a foundation review. I recently picked this up at my local Target's because I had seen various Youtube Beauty Gurus raving about it and I wanted to try it for myself.
The only products I've tried for Covergirl have been their mascaras, which I've liked quite a bit, especially the Lash Blast. I had high hopes for this foundation the minute I brought it home. Unfortunately, it wasn't as great as I had hoped it would be.
The coverage was pretty light, which was okay for me since I only use foundation to cover up some red blotches on my cheeks because I don't have any acne. The thing with this foundation is that it's just the teeniest bit too oily and makes my skin look a little shiny. I end up having to powder my face to get the shine away, which isn't exactly to my taste. I'm not a fan of the "cakey" powder look.

This foundation does even out my skin tone though and I enjoy the light cucumber odor it has. My shade is Maple, or 340, and it matches me perfectly. The wide range of shades make it possible for everyone to find their right colour. The consistency is very smooth and easy to apply. I recommend using your fingers as that seems to be the best way to get it on. It blends in well and looks really natural. The lasting power isn't very long, especially if you sweat, but I don't mind it too much. A light squeeze of product goes a long way. By the time I get home from school, it still looks mostly intact.
I have normal skin, so this foundation works for me. I would not recommend it if you have oily skin! Dry skin types should be fine as well though. Pick your shade carefully, because if you get it right, it's perfect. :) Another plus is that it contains SPF and natural ingredients. All in all, I would give this foundation a 4/5 stars.
I bought this at Target for $9.74. It's a good price for a good foundation.

Fragrance Review: Victoria's Secret Bombshell Summer Body Mist
Hey loves. :)
Today's post will be a fragrance review. I'm just going to start right off the bat by saying that this is one of my all time FAVOURITE scents. Unfortunately, it's no longer being sold in store because it's not the summer season anymore. You should still be able to purchase this on eBay or Amazon though.
I went into Victoria's Secret sometime this July and decided to try this fragrance out because it was sitting on a little table right near the entrance. It totally suckered me in with its light yet refreshing flirty scent. Its main notes are grapefruit, black currant and lily. I get compliments on it every single time I wear it! It's not too strong and not too weak; perfect for any occassion.
The packaging is beautiful as well. It comes in dark pink multifaceted bottle with a gold emblem on the front that says VS. The main colors throughout are pink and gold, with white for the lettering. Simple, yet sexy.
I personally purchased the body mist version just because I wanted to try it out before I got the Eau de Parfum. They discontinued it before I got a chance to go back and get the full version. Although I only got the body mist, it's quite long lasting for something that is just supposed to be a light spray.
It comes in three sizes: small body mist, large body mist, and Eau de Parfum. I got the small mist (2.5 oz) for $10 on sale. The large mist was $25 and was 8.4 oz. The Eau de Parfum came in a unique glass bottle and was 1.7 oz for $49.
This scent is amazing! I wear it almost everyday and I'm running out. If you can find yourself a bottle, snatch it up as quick as you can. I'm not sure if they'll be selling this next summer as well.
My First Review! - Urban Decay Naked Palette
Hey loves. :)
This is my first review/post on this blog. I've had a couple blogs beforehand and I also have a Tumblr, so I hope I found this similar and easy to use!
This post will be about Urban Decay's Naked Palette, one of my first major makeup purchases. I picked this up at Sephora for $48 after one of the sales associates there recommended it. I had also seen a ton of Youtube reviews for the product before buying it.
I have to say, I really do love this palette. It has every color you'd need for any sort of neutral eye, and it can create both day and night looks. The colors are very pigmented and it comes with a gorgeous eyeshadow brush. Not my favorite eyeshadow brush, but decent.
It also comes with a tiny version of the original Urban Decay Primer Potion. Amazing eyeshadow primer! Makes the color last all day long. I recommend buying a full version when you run out of the travel size. It also comes with colored versions in the shades Sin and Greed.
The twelve eyeshadows it includes are:
Virgin (nude satin)
Sin (champagne shimmer)
Naked (buff matte)
Sidecar (beige sparkle)
Buck (brown matte)
Half Baked (bronze)
Smog (golden brown shimmer)
Darkhorse (bronze-plum shimmer)
Toasted (taupe-bronze)
Hustle (mocha shimmer)
Creep (near-black metallic)
Gunmetal (dark grey metallic)
I'm obsessed with the Half Baked color! It's a beautiful gold bronze with light sparkles in it. It lights up my entire eye. I love Sin as a highlight color and Buck as a crease color.
